Since TekCom Resources was founded in September 2005, the telecom industry has moved through major generations of wireless technology, massive fiber broadband expansion and an increasing demand for the infrastructure supporting our connected world. Today, AI and data center growth are creating another wave of opportunity.
Through all that change, one part of TekCom’s approach has remained remarkably consistent: telecom recruiting is about people.
This September, we’re proud to celebrate 21 years of TekCom Resources and the clients, candidates, employees and industry relationships that have helped shape our story!
Where It Started: A Different Approach to Telecom Recruiting
TekCom Resources began in 2005 with Kary Raddant as CEO and Ian Raddant as President. From the beginning, Kary and Ian wanted to move away from a purely transactional staffing model and create a company that added real value to its relationships with clients, candidates and colleagues.
That philosophy still influences how we approach telecom infrastructure staffing today.
Finding someone with the right skills is important. Understanding why a candidate is considering a move, what a hiring manager truly needs and what will create a stronger long-term match is just as important.
As technology has evolved, TekCom has evolved with it but our focus on relationships, transparency and doing the right thing has remained at the center of the business.
21 Years of TekCom: A Look at the Journey
2005 — It Begins
TekCom Resources is formed in Philadelphia, PA and makes its first placement with Cingular Wireless, now AT&T.
2007 — Growing the Network
TekCom surpasses 100 placements.
2013–2017 — Building a National Presence
A New York location opens in 2013, followed by expansion into Texas in 2014. By 2017, TekCom expands to the West Coast, completing a national footprint.
2018 — Woman-Owned Certification
TekCom Resources becomes formally certified as a Woman-Owned Business, including WBENC WBE certification.
2019–2020 — National Recognition
TekCom is named to the Inc. 5000 list of Fastest-Growing Companies in America in both 2019 and 2020. In 2019, the company is also ranked #2 among more than 100 staffing vendors for a major telecom company.
2022–2026 — Recognized by Clients and Talent
TekCom earns Best of Staffing Talent and Client Awards across five consecutive years with world-class results and Net Promoter Scores.
2023 — Investing in What’s Next
TekCom integrates AI and machine learning into its proprietary database search, establishes a presence in Columbus, OH and relocates its headquarters to Skaneateles, NY.
2026 — 21 Years & Counting
Today, TekCom continues connecting telecom infrastructure companies with specialized professionals nationwide while helping candidates find opportunities that align with their experience and career goals.
Growing Alongside Telecom Infrastructure
The industry TekCom serves today looks very different from the one we entered in 2005.
But specialization has remained one of our strengths.
TekCom is a woman-owned, full-service national telecom recruiting and staffing firm providing contract, contract-to-hire and direct-hire solutions. Our expertise is especially strong in fiber broadband engineering and construction while extending across the broader telecom industry.
We support talent needs throughout the network infrastructure lifecycle, including planning, analysis, design, implementation, operations and maintenance. That can mean finding an OSP Engineer or Fiber Planning professional early in a project, supporting construction and project management needs as deployment accelerates or identifying specialized field and technical talent needed to keep infrastructure operating.
As fiber broadband networks continue expanding and new investments in AI and data center infrastructure increase the importance of connectivity, we’re excited to see where the next chapter takes our industry.
